Lake St. Louis, located only 17 minutes from Chesterfield, Missouri near the intersection of Highway 70 and Highway 40 and is developed around two large lakes - a 550-acre lake (skiing permitted) and a 75-acre lake (sailboats and boats with 10 hp engines only)
The city, which was incorporated in 1975, is touted as being metropolitan St. Louis' "only year round recreational/residential community." It is a veritable resort - a 3,000 acre playground. Besides the lakes, Lake St. Louis is complete with just about every other recreational amenity imaginable. There are two golf courses, a nine hole and 18 hole course, plus country clubs, tennis courts, parks, pools, horseback riding and boarding facilities.
